The river boat
The gentlest option. Small passenger boats leave from both banks by the bridge in Omiš and go 6.2 km upriver through the lower canyon to Radmanove mlinice, stop there and come back. No effort, no getting wet, and the best choice with small children or anyone who does not want to swim. Details: the river boat trip.
Rafting
The classic Cetina trip and, according to the management plan, the most common activity in the canyon. Rafts put in at Penšići and float about 9.8 km down to Radmanove mlinice, through short rapids over tufa and long calm pools, with stops to swim. It is a float through a gorge more than a white-water ride, and suits most people who can sit in a raft and paddle when asked. Details: Cetina river rafting.

Canyoning
The one that gets you inside the gorge. From Zadvarje you go down the riverbed itself, wading, swimming, sliding and jumping into pools; on the extreme route you also abseil beside the 49 m Velika Gubavica. Wet from start to finish, physically demanding, and only for people at ease in deep water. Details: canyoning on the Cetina.
The zipline
The view from above. The management plan describes the Omiš zipline as eight wires with a total length of 2,100 m, running high over the river around the Visečki kuk ridge between Omiš and Radmanove mlinice. It is the one activity that shows the shape of the lower canyon, walls and river together. Ask about weight and age limits before booking.
The quieter options
- Kayak and canoe. The kayak and canoe trips use the upper canyon, above Zadvarje: the management plan names the entry at Čikotina lađa and the exit at Blato na Cetini.
- Climbing. The plan counts 12 equipped crags with 175 routes in the protected area.
- Walking. Trails above the canyon at Zakučac, the fortress above Omiš and the Gubavica viewpoint at Zadvarje: see walks and viewpoints.
Water level matters for all of them
Every trip on the water depends on what the reservoirs upstream release. The river runs low in dry summers, and it can rise fast when water is let out. Licensed companies receive the power company’s warnings of planned releases; that is one more reason to book with one and follow the guide.
