About this guide

cetinacanyon.com is a visitor guide to the Cetina river canyon between Omiš and Zadvarje in Split-Dalmatia County, Croatia. It is written for people planning a visit: how to get there, what the boat, rafting and canyoning trips involve, where to see the Gubavica waterfall and what to know about the river.

Who manages the canyon

The Cetina Canyon (Kanjon rijeke Cetine) is a protected significant landscape managed by More i krš, the Split-Dalmatia County public institution for protected nature, which issues the concessions for the activities on the river. This site is not run by More i krš, by the Town of Omiš or by any tourist board, and does not speak for them. Their own pages are moreikrs.hr and visitomis.hr.

Where the facts come from

  • The canyon, its protection, the waterfalls, the power stations and the rules for visitor activities come from More i krš and from the canyon’s management plan for 2024 to 2033, published by Croatia’s Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, and were checked in November 2026.
  • History and visitor information about Omiš and Radmanove mlinice come from the Omiš tourist board, and trail figures from the Split-Dalmatia County tourist board.
  • Road and walking distances are routed along the mapped road and path network between the named points; straight-line distances are measured between the same points. River distances are measured along the river’s course.
  • Maps are drawn for this site from open map data, credited on each map.
